Brazil's Anderson cleared to play for Manchester United
Manchester, England (Sports Network) - Brazilian teenager Anderson was issued a work permit and has been cleared to join Manchester United.
Anderson, 19, had his initial application for a work permit denied because he did not meet the criteria of playing in enough internationals for his country. Players must appear in 75 percent of their country's games in the previous two years.
He is joining the Premiership from Portuguese champion FC Porto. Anderson had three goals for FC Porto last season.
If the appeal was denied, Manchester United would have been forced to wait one year to re-apply for the permit.
