Liverpool Interested In Manchester United’s Gabriel Heinze – Barca’s Signing of Abidal Likely To Leave Juve & Real In Hunt
Liverpool are reportedly interested in Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze, who has however said that he will make a decision after the Copa America tournament ends.
The Argentina international has been speculated to end his stay at Old Trafford this summer with Juventus, Real Madrid and Barcelona along with his old club PSG linked to the 29-year-old, who plays predominantly in left-back position for the Red Devils and in a central role for his country.
Heinze, who arrived at Old Trafford in 2004 from PSG, is considered a favourite of the United fans. However, he has been forced to play second-fiddle to Patrice Evra last season following the injury-enforced lay-off that allowed the Frenchman to come into the reckoning in the earlier campaign.
Barcelona have signed Eric Abidal from Lyon this week and might cool off their interest of Heinze. That leave Juventus to fight with the Reds and Real Madrid to land the uncompromising full-back.
Heinze is presently concentrating on the Copa assignment. He told the Sun: "I know some clubs are interested in me. My head is with the Argentina team to play the Copa America. After that and a holiday, I will know better where I will play next season."
